Glow Eggs

We just wouldn't be Growing a Jeweled Rose if we didn't try to come up with a way to make GLOWING Easter dye to make GLOW EGGS.  We experimented and tried a few things and the results were so FUN!

This activity turned out way cooler than I thought it was going to.  Don't you just love when that happens?  I tried my hand at making glowing dye and glow in the dark dye.  I was very pleased with the results of both.

To make GLOWING Egg Dye you will need:

In a bowl add a dollop on the glowing paint of your choice.  Then add very warm water and stir.  Then add vinegar.  Mix it and that's it!   I did not measure.  I used a dollop of paint and roughly 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar and the dye turned out FANTASTIC!

Rosie had a blast dying the Easter eggs.  A quick tip- use a whisk to hold the Easter eggs when dying with small children.  Works a treat!

Rosie wanted to hold the eggs so she only used the whisk for a bit.  She then had a blast transferring the eggs to all the different bowls of dye.

This egg dying technique was amazingly colorful and quite spectacular.

As the eggs were moved from the dyes, the swirling colors and effects were beautiful!

So magical and FUN!

Rosie dipped and dropped the eggs in the varying bowls over and over again until I finally said she had to get ready for bed.  She didn't want to stop.  The eggs quickly dried and the final results were so beautiful!

Rosie also painted a few eggs with paint and a brush.  This is another option for decorating glow eggs.
