This activity was a total experiment. I had no idea if the ingredients would mix or if they would dye the eggs..... and I certainly didn't expect amazing results like this. My entire family was in awe. Are you ready to get your glow on?
- Begin by adding a squirt of neon paint to a bowl, using one bowl for each color of dye that you wish to make. Then, add roughly the same amount of very warm water and stir until the paint is dissolved.
- Add vinegar (roughly 1/4 cups) to the bowls and mix well. That's it! Making our neon egg dye was easy, and the colors turned out so fantastically vibrant!
Dying the Eggs
- Once the dyes are mixed kids can dip hard-boiled eggs in the dyes the same way that they would with traditional egg dye
My girls had a blast transferring the eggs from one bowl to the other, and they were determined to dip each egg in every color of dye
Dipping the eggs in this way ended up creating the most amazingly spectacular effects! As the eggs were moved from dye-color to dye-color they transformed in truly mesmerizing ways
So magical and FUN!
Rosie dipped and dropped the eggs into the varying bowls over and over again. She didn't want to stop! The more she dipped the eggs in the varying dyes the cooler they became!
Once she had her fill the eggs quickly dried, and the final results were so beautiful!
I would deem this a must-try kids activity for sure! I mean, what kid wouldn't want to dye glow-in-the-dark Easter eggs- right?
