To make our glow-in-the-dark Grinch slime I prepared a batch of our favorite slime and then added a holiday scent. I also cut Grinch face shapes out of craft foam. My kids had so much fun with this slime!
Glowing Grinch Slime Recipe:
- 2 cups of school glue
- 3-5 drops of peppermint extract
- 1 & 1/2 cups of very warm water
- Several drops of glow in the dark or fluorescent paint
Combine in a small bowl. In a separate bowl combine
- 3/4 teaspoons of borax
- 1 & 1/3 cups very warm water
Once the ingredients of both bowls are mixed combine both bowls. As you mix the ingredients with your hands the slime will form. Continue to knead the slime until it is fully formed. Then kids can play!
They can stretch it
make Silly Grinch Faces
And watch it OOZE!
My girls couldn't stop giggling as they played with their slime!
Making the Grinch face shapes was easy. All you need is craft foam and scissors. I looked at a picture of the Grinch while cutting the shapes.
Storage & Tips: Store the slime in a zip seal bag between play times, and it will stay good for several months. While you do not need a blacklight for this activity I do recommend using one. It makes the slime glow MUCH brighter. You can use a blacklight flashlight or a fixture. The flashlights are really fun for the kids! This is the glowing paint that we use. Borax can be found in the laundry aisle of most stores or on Amazon here.
