This bath time was simple enough to put together and had the whole upper level of our home smelling of Fall! It was a treat for all!
For this bath I filled the tub with bubbles. Then I painted a pumpkin on the bubbles using pumpkin scented liquid water colors. This essentially made pumpkin bubbles!
To make Scented Pumpkin Bubbles, you will need:
- food coloring
- pumpkin pie spice
- spray bottles
To make the pumpkin scented liquid water colors, I mixed orange food coloring, water, and pumpkin pie spice into a spray bottle. In a separate spray bottle I mixed black food coloring and water. Be sure to shake both spray bottles well to ensure proper mixing. Once the spice had settled in the the spray bottles I strained it out to prevent clogging. I did this by slowly pouring the liquid to another empty bottle, leaving all the sentiment behind. Then I sprayed a jack-o-lantern onto the bubbles. The pumpkin pie spice scented the colored water so well, giving us heavenly scented pumpkin bubbles!
To make pumpkin scented bath paint you will need:
- shaving cream
- orange food coloring
- pumpkin pie spice
Mix a few drops of orange food coloring with shaving cream in a bowl. Then sprinkle in some pumpkin pie spice and mix. I added a bit of glitter to ours just because Rosie loves glitter.
Both Rosie and Jewel had a blast with this bath! Rosie was so surprised when she walked in and saw pumpkin bubbles in her bath and both girls loved painting with the pumpkin scented bath paint!
The whole upstairs of our home smelled just like pumpkin pie! It was divine!
Both girls painted for a while, and then Rosie used the foam shapes from our bath time pumpkin face decorating kit to give her pumpkin bath art faces.
Once bath time was over all the mess washed right down the drain. The food coloring did not stain the bath or skin. However, if you have have problems with staining just fill a spray bottle with bleach and spritz on the stain. With all the activities we have ever done, that has always worked for us.
After the girls were dry and in their pajamas, we watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown just to make it extra special, and in that a new tradition was born!
Pumpkin Themed Bath Night and Movie Time!
I have had a couple readers ask me where they can purchase pumpkin pie spice. It can be found in the spice aisle of any major grocery store or department store. If you do not already have some in your cupboard, it is about $4, but there are endless ways to use it.
Here are some of the other things we have done with it:
