Treasure Slime Recipe

Method
  • Begin by mixing the liquid starch and the glue together in a bowl.  This will form the base slime.
  • Once the slime is mixed allow it to sit for a minute or two.  This helps the slime to form and lose it's stickiness.  After a few minutes kids can begin adding the glitter; this was Rosie and Jewel's favorite part

  • They added lots and lots of glitter to give us beautiful rainbow sparkle slime.  You can get rainbow glitter in large packets at Walmart or online here.  Once all the glitter was added we tossed in shamrock sequins, treasure coins, and gems.

  • Mommy mixed the treasures into the slime, trying to hide them as best as I could.  The girls were so excited and had such great fun hunting for the treasures in the slime

The treasures easily lifted out of the slime as Rosie and Jewel found hem. Once the girls found all the treasures we tossed them back in, and the fun began again! A slimy treasure hunt is just too fun to do only once!

A Few Tips:  Store the slime in a zip seal bag or air tight container between playtimes, and it will last for a really long time.  You can use glitter glue to make your slime if you prefer, buy my girls loved adding the glitter themselves.  To get lots of sparkle you will need lots of glitter.  Liquid starch can be found in the laundry aisle of most stores or online here.
