Have I told you yet that we love Halloween? It has to be the most fun holiday there is. It isn't quite my favorite (just because of the family togetherness and magic of Christmas) but it is the most fun! Especially when you dress up as a family! Dressing up together is a fun tradition that creates life long memories for parent and child alike.
Today I thought I would share our Halloween costume theme from last year. Perhaps you are looking for costume ideas or maybe just a good laugh and chuckle. Either way, I hope you enjoy the fun photos of my family from last Halloween!
The Wizard of Oz Family Costume Theme
Last year was unique in that Rosie and Jewel were both too little to have any say in our costumes. This gave mommy and daddy free rein to decide. We picked The Wizard of Oz for a few reasons, one being the fabulous costumes we found for each character. I loved them all!
Rosie as Dorothy
We loved that this made Rosie the center of the theme. This was great for a couple of reasons, the biggest being that Rosie was a new big sister and was still adjusting to not being the only child. It was nice to make her the center of attention.
Jewel as the Lion
I fell in love with this lion costume as soon as I saw it! It was the perfect first Halloween costume. It kept Jewel warm, was comfortable, and was easy to put on and take off!
Daddy as the Tin Man
Oh yes, daddy's costume was wonderful! Everywhere we went people had to stop and check him out. Children were especially in awe. And the family photos will be treasured forever!
Mommy as The Scarecrow
One frustrating thing about being a woman and dressing up for Halloween is that you normally have two options- way too revealing or very unflattering. Somehow I did manage to find a scarecrow costume that I liked though.

Getting family shots was the hardest. We had to rely on a camera timer with two children under two- no easy feat!
