The girls loved the erupting pumpkins experiment we did so much that we had to do it again only this time we made it GLOW!!
Halloween fun with Glowing Pumpkin Eruptions
As much as they loved this experiment the first time they loved the glowing version even more! For the glowing eruptions experiment, you will need:
- a carved pumpkin
- baking soda
- Glow in the dark or fluorescent paint- if using fluorescent paint you will want a blacklight.
Add baking soda along with a few drops of the glowing paint of your choice to a carved pumpkin. Then add the vinegar and watch the pumpkin erupt!
Taking photos in low light is VERY tricky, especially when you are trying to capture something as fleeting as a baking soda and vinegar reaction. Hopefully you can see enough from the photos to know that this was loaded with Halloween fun! The pics do not do the glowing eruptions justice at all. You must try it at home to see just how cool this really is!
