Bath Time Pumpkin Face Decorating

Now that all of the Autumn and Halloween merchandise has hit the shelves, Rosie has been getting really
excited!  She has also been asking to carve and decorate pumpkins.  The only problem is that pumpkins are not out in stores quite yet (I have looked in several stores in my area) So, to pacify her until I can find some real pumpkins, I made pumpkin and face shapes out of foam for some Bath Time Pumpkin Face Decorating!

Did you know that craft foam magically sticks to the wall when wet?  I purchased the foam sheets at Michaels for 99 cents a sheet.  I only needed two orange pieces of foam and one black piece and I had more than enough to make three large pumpkin faces.

The girls have had so much fun decorating their pumpkin faces at bath time!

Rosie decided the yellow foam pieces I had cut for eye centers were pumpkin cheeks

Jewel loved putting her handful of shapes on the wall, and then taking them off.

Doesn't her pumpkin face  look perfect?

As far as the yellow foam pieces, I think they make better pumpkin face cheeks than eyes, don't you?

I love that the girls can decorate these bath time pumpkin faces over and over again throughout the Fall season!

We have so many other ideas for craft foam in the bath too. We will be making a  bath time Christmas tree for Rosie and Jewel to decorate over and over this holiday season.  Check back with us to see how it turns out!

Note- I dyed the water black the first time I surprised the girls with this pumpkin face activity just to add another fun element to the bath time.  The black food coloring did not stain the bath or children.

As soon as real pumpkins are in stores, we will be buying some, but until then, this bath time pumpkin face decorating has been keeping the girls happy!

We have lots of other fun pumpkin ideas coming up!  Be sure to check back with us!
