Wow the kids this Summer with this simple recipe for play.
This "cool" activity is perfect for a warm Summer's evening. As the ice chalk melts the most beautiful effects are produced.
My girls were in awe, and I loved how easy this recipe was, too!

Note: I found it easier to mix the ingredients in a cup and then transfer it into the ice tray, but you can mix it right in the ice tray if you prefer.
Method
- In a cup, combine equal parts of corn starch and water and mix using one cup for each color of ice chalk that you wish to make
- Then, add a squirt of neon paint to each cup and mix until all ingredients are combined

- Once the ingredients are mixed carefully pour the contents of the cups into the ice trays and freeze for 4-6 hours

- Once frozen the ice will easily pop from the trays, and play can begin! Give kids their super cool flashlights and head outside!

Kids can use the chalk to stack, build, and create.

My girls loved using the flashlights to make their artwork illuminate, and as they played the chalk slowly melted, creating beautiful effects!

Rosie and Jewel loved the effects so much that they asked for poster board to lay on the pavement so that they could keep a few pieces of their artwork.

Both girls loved this play time so much! We will definitely have to try this one again, but with a twist of some kind. Follow us on Pinterest and Facebook so you don't miss the fun!
Note: The neon paint that we use can be found on Amazon here. I highly recommend it, as it is super vibrant and a great value. However, it isn't always available. Here is a second neon paint that we love. The flashlights that we use can be found here.
