Potato flakes actually make the perfect sensory play material for babies! They are edible, inexpensive, and tons of fun! Don't believe me? Give this two-ingredient potato paint recipe a try!

I love that this recipe allows for even the littlest littles to paint & play! Are you ready to make paint from potatoes?
Potato Paint Recipe
- Potato flakes
- Food coloring
- Hot water
Method
- Pour the desired amount of potato flakes into a bowl, using one bowl for each color of paint that you wish to make.

- Add several drops of food coloring to each bowl.
- Then, slowly begin to add water in small amounts, slowly adding more water and mixing until the desired consistency is reached.
- You can use more or less water to create different paint consistencies. More water will produce a runnier paint and less will give you a thick, finger-paint type of consistency.
Once the finger paints were mixed I poured them into easy-to-handle containers that couldn't be broken. Then, it was time to PLAY!

The paint has a really fun texture and is safe-to-taste, making it great for kids of all ages!

My girls had lots of fun creating and exploring with their easy to make paint, and they found all sorts of ways to play!

For even more fun (& REALLY vibrant colors) use kool-aid in place of food coloring to color your homemade paints.
This adds a fun scent to the paint and makes it even more fun for kids! Any time you use kool-aid in play, it is sure to smell AMAZING!
