Ever since I saw these rainbow pour painted pots on Dilly-Dali Art over a year ago I had been wanting to try the rainbow pour painting method. While we had tried tall pour painting before, never in rainbow order. The other day while on one of my many Dollar Tree trips it all came together for me when a shelf of clear glass vases caught my eye.
The most BEAUTIFUL Painting Method EVER!
Not only is the pour painting technique beautiful but it is tons of fun for kids. They get to squeeze and pour paint and LOTS if it!
All you need for this activity are one dollar glass vases and acrylic paint. Using rainbow colors gives an AMAZING effect but you can use any combination of colors you prefer. The idea is to pour the paint in rainbow order, one color on top of the other. The colors will pour down the side of the vase and create beautiful rainbow effects!
Continue to layer the paint until you have the desired effect (or in our case, run out of paint)
Rosie loved squeezing and pouring the paint, and she was in AWE of the oozing rainbows!
I was pretty in awe myself! This painting technique is really BEAUTIFUL!
Choosing which photos to include here was very difficult- the process is just so beautiful!
I love that this paint method allows for children to be messy. Rosie didn't always layer the paint perfectly or even in rainbow order. She got to make a BIG mess and the end result was still beautiful regardless of how she poured the paint!
We made four vases total and plan to give them out as Mother's Day gifts. They turned out so BEAUTIFUL I only wish we had made more!
We loved this painting method SO MUCH we immediately made some other beautiful pour paint art. Be sure to check back with us to see what we came up with!
Also be sure to pop over to Dilly-Dali Art and see her pour paint terracotta pots which would surely be BEAUTIFUL in the garden!
