Then they will love this easy to set up winter experiment!

Making a snow volcano is really easy, and Rosie and Jewel had so much fun! Make sure you have lots of baking soda and vinegar on hand, because your kids will want to make their volcano erupt again & again!
An erupting snow volcano! How FUN!
Snow Volcano
Materials
- A cup or plastic bottle
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- Food coloring (if color is desired)
Method
To make a snow volcano you will first need snow. We have had an abundance here lately, so we were good to go. To form our volcano I took a plastic cup and set it on the ground in the snow. Then, I piled snow up and around the cup to form "the volcano".

I recommend packing the snow tightly around the cup to help the volcano hold it's shape during play.
Once the volcano is formed have kids add baking soda and food coloring to the cup which is now acting as the volcanoes core.

Now, it is time to make it erupt! Have kids pour in vinegar and then step back.

Rosie and Jewel loved their snow volcano and delighted in making it erupt over and over again!

Making a snow volcano is a super fun way to play in the snow while also exploring a bit of magical Science.
