A Warm Way to Play With Snow

It snowed here yesterday, and I was anxious to take Jewel and Rosie out to play.  Once outside, Rosie kept saying she was cold.  I kept asking her if she wanted to go inside, but she didn't want to stop playing in the snow.  I didn't want to keep Jewel out too long either since she is still so little.  I then remembered Happy Hooligans recent post about bringing the snow indoors.  What a perfect solution!  Rosie could still play and explore in the snow, and both girls would be warm!

I simply filled a sensory bin with the snow from outside

Then I threw in a bunch of scooper's and kitchen gadgets.

Giving it a taste.  I just love when all senses are reached during an activity!

Once the girls began to lose interest, I got out our liquid watercolors so that the girls could paint the snow.  I have seen this activity done in so many ways.  You can paint the snow indoors or outdoors.  You can also paint Insta-Snow right before it is about to expire, which we have done before.   Painting the snow is fantastic fun any way that it is done.

Rosie loves to paint!  I love finding new ways for her to explore one of her favorite activities!

Once we were done playing with the snow for the day, I covered the bin and placed it outside.  Since it has remained fairly cold here, we still have our bin of colorful snow to bring in and enjoy!

What beautiful snow!!!

However you explore with snow, it is sure to be fabulous fun!
